Auckland Seafood Festival

Festival organizers expect event to sell out

Tickets for the fourth annual Auckland Seafood Festival are now on sale through i-Ticket. This three-day event held at Halsey Street Wharf over Auckland's Anniversary holiday weekend 2010, celebrates New Zealand's seafood industry and the close association Aucklander's have with the sea.

The Auckland Seafood Festival offers visitors a chance to experience a wide range of delicious New Zealand seafood, sample wine from a special Glengarrys collection of NZ vineyards and enjoy entertainment for young and old on show throughout the weekend.

With activities like surfcasting & The Auckland Fish Filleting competition, Auckland
Seafood Cooking School demonstrations and fishing industry activities like oyster schucking and the traditional Blessing of the Fleet we believe it’s the ultimate seafood day out.

New features include a customised Macs Brew Bar featuring beer & seafood matches, the Oyster & Champagne tent, a pop-up Movenpick store, and customised ‘seafood matching’ cocktails from 42 Below.

Add in the traditional Blessing of the Fleet, the perennial crowd favourite the ‘celebrity slippery pole’, commercial fishing boats on display and the Pak n Save mussel barge which is needed to supply the estimated 25,000 mussels that will be devoured over the three days, and there is most definitely something for everyone.
