SpaFinder Readers have voted the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort and Thalasso Spas as the “favourite spa in the South Pacific islands” in its seventh annual awards to honor the very best spas in the world.
Well over 70,000 spas worldwide were reviewed with the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort sweeping the field in the South Pacific category.
Intercontinental’s Deep Ocean Spa on Bora Bora is the first Thalasso spa in the world to use the benefits of deep-sea water and minerals extracted from the Pacific Ocean at a depth of more than 914 meters for all its signature treatments.
Designed by Algotherem, deverloper of spas and Thalassotherapy centres around the world, the Deep Ocean Spa sets a new world standard for marine treatment and therapy centres. The 1,226 square metre spa complex houses 14 treatment rooms for deep sea water hydrotheraphy, beauty treatments and gentle energy therapy.
A highlight is the spa’s glass-floored overwater Spa Suites where individual guests or couples can admire maritime flora and fauna during treatment sessions. There are also areas for relaxation with breaktaking views of the ocean, steam baths and showers to revitalize the senses, outdoor Jacuzzis, a gym, a tea lunge and a boutique.
