Q1 Resort & Spa to show landmark support on climate change

The iconic crown on the top of the world’s tallest residential tower, Q1 Resort & Spa, will go dark for sixty minutes for Earth Hour 2010 on Saturday 27 March from 8.30pm.

Q1 Resort & Spa will join an estimated 100 other iconic landmarks around the world as they switch off their lights for Earth Hour, marking their commitment to the environment.

The global event created by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), will reach new heights this year, with the world's three tallest buildings - the new Burj Khalifa in Dubai, CN Tower in Toronto and Taipei 101 in Taiwan – among those joining Q1 Resort & Spa to go dark for Earth Hour.

During Earth Hour, the lights on Q1 Resort & Spa’s iconic rooftop crown will be switched off to make a symbolic point about power usage.

The extinguishing of the power to the crown will be the first signal to the Q1 Resort & Spa team who will be on duty to ensure reception lights are dimmed in unison and tea light candles are lit.

Resort guests are also encouraged to join in by turning the lights out in their rooms and will be given complimentary glow sticks at the time of check-in.
