South African Airways (SAA) has welcomed the announcement that QF/SA codeshare flights to Johannesburg will now depart Sydney every day from 21 September, 2010.
SAA's Head of Australasia, Thevan Krishna said: "We're delighted that we can now offer daily flights out of both Sydney and Perth. We are seeing strong interest in Africa as a business, recreational and VFR destination and the additional flight will help address that demand."
"With the Football World Cup about to kick off next month, the focus of the world will be on South Africa. New and improved hotels and improved airport and transport infrastructure reflects a major investment in our future and we are confident more Aussies will visit us in the future."
"SAA is acknowledged as the leading airline in Africa with the most comprehensive network and number of connections to all major cities on the continent. Now with 14 flights each week from Australia and very competitive fares, we're confident of an even brighter future," Thevan said.
Note: SAA flies non-stop from Sydney to Johannesburg six days a week and daily from Perth, with connections to the largest network in Africa. SAA is consistently voted the 'Best Airline & Cabin Crew in Africa' winning it for the 16th consecutive year in the Travel Weekly Globe Awards in London. SAA took out top honours at the recent WTA awards in London, with three awards in the Africa category.
