A passport to the school holidays

The engines are fully fired up and are ready for take off this school holidays at Novotel Queenstown Lakeside.

Welcoming families aboard for a truly effortless stay this winter-break are several new additions aimed at keeping the kids occupied while Mum and Dad kick back and relax.

On check-in at Queenstown’s largest hotel, kids will receive an exclusive Novotel passport that contains everything mini jet-setters need or want to know about Queenstown, packed with kid-friendly activities and their very own new-look children’s menu and even a happy hour ‘cocktail’ menu.

A brand new children’s play area has also been installed at the 273-room property complete with an awesome colourful wall mural, junior tables and chairs, fun games, books and puzzles.

Novotel Queenstown Lakeside General Manger Jim Moore said the new introductions are part of the family-focused sub brand at the hotel called ‘Family & Novotel’ which looks to treat children as special guests.

“We’ve made a great effort in putting together these new introductions, and as no other property in Queenstown has a kids play area or passport we think they will prove to be very popular.

“By providing fun and entertainment for children during their stay at Novotel it helps take the weight off parent’s feet and contributes to a more enjoyable holiday atmosphere for the whole family.

“We’ve even got frisbees available at the front desk so kids can play Frisbee golf in the nearby Queenstown Gardens for free, and there are lots of board games they can book out while the family’s here.”

Novotel Queenstown Lakeside also has a great family offer where children (under the age of 16) can stay in a second adjoining hotel room at discounted prices and eat breakfast for free with every family booking at the hotel.

For locals, Elements Café now offers a purpose-built new kids play area and plenty of space for mums with buggies to relax and enjoy coffee and a snack in a pleasant environment. Mums are welcome any day, but are encouraged to join others for COT - ‘Coffee on Tuesdays or Thursdays’ - where mums (or dads) with infants will receive discounted coffee and muffin deals. Everything’s been thought of – the hotel has just installed baby change tables and has a range of items for those with special dietary requirements.

The property boasts an unrivalled in-town location, just steps away from Queenstown’s bars, restaurants and shops, and has an absolute lakefront position.
