INTRODUCING SALON DE NING AT THE PENINSULA SHANGHA

A super-chic new hangout at The Peninsula Shanghai is seducing locals and hotel guests alike. Tucked away downstairs in the basement is Salon De Ning, where jazz bar meets speakeasy with live music, dancing and late night decadence.

With dramatic interiors inspired by the elegance of a drawing room in a private Shanghai residence in the 1930’s, Salon de Ning is the ideal place to sink into a sofa with a late-night cocktail or disappear into one of four semi-private alcoves - Azure, Indian, L’Atelier or Cinema - and be seduced by the extravagance of an era when glamour was all that mattered. Accommodating just 43 guests, the lounge bar offers a range of delicious cocktails including the renowned Salon de Ning Rosé Champagne and light snacks including its signature purple and pink chocolates.

Salon de Ning at The Peninsula Shanghai is the third in a series inspired by the fictional Madame Ning, a Shanghai socialite, world traveller and international hostess who presided over salons in her stylish residences around the world and was a tireless collector of objets sourced during her travels. Sister lounges are located in The Peninsula New York and The Peninsula Hong Kong.

Salon de Ning’s jaw-dropping interiors were designed by Henry Leung, the Hong Kong based Design Director of Chhada, Siembieda, Leung Limited. Leung has worked on a number of Chinese heritage-themed projects for The Peninsula Hotels, including Salon de Ning in The Peninsula Hong Kong; Huang Ting Chinese restaurant in The Peninsula Beijing; Hei Fung Terrace Chinese restaurant in The Peninsula Tokyo; Salon de Ning in The Peninsula New York, and Yi Long Court Chinese restaurant in The Peninsula Shanghai.
