As part of its 75th Anniversary celebrations, South African Airways has announced great value fares to passengers travelling from Adelaide and Perth to Johannesburg return for $1300, with connecting fares to four cities in South Africa for an extra $100.
Thevan Krishna, SAA’s Head of Australasia said the new fares went on sale on Friday March 6 until Friday March 20 and are for travel between now and March 28, and then from April 15 until July 31, 2009.
“These fares offer excellent value to passengers between now and the end of July, particularly with the added advantage of very good connecting internal fares within South Africa,“ Thevan said.
“People can connect with Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth or East London for only $100 more, taking the maximum fare under this great offer to $1400,” he said.
According to Thevan Krishna, SAA is seeing strong interest in travel to South Africa and Africa due to the low value of the South African rand compared to the Australian dollar.
“2009 is shaping up as a big year as we build up momentum and prepare for the World Cup in 2010. As the fastest, most direct way of getting to the African continent from Australia, we are very excited about welcoming more Aussies on board SAA,” Thevan concluded.
